A Country wedding

Date: feb 2018
Guests: 110
Location: waldara farm, oberon

THE BRIEF

  • To provide full event management and styling for a country wedding. Source a venue that can accommodate the ceremony, reception, and accommodation for the bride and groom’s families (20 total) and has indoor and outdoor options in the case of wet weather.

  • Design a rustic, chic, bohemian vibe. Key colours burgundy and reds.

  • Create a casual and relaxed atmosphere for my friends and family.

  • Source venue, caterer, entertainment, florist, stationary, photographer, signage, cake, local transport, AV, hair & makeup.

THE SOLUTION

  • Sourced a stunning multi-purpose wedding venue in the country town of Oberon, Waldara Farm. Ability to accommodate bride and groom families in separate accommodation on property.

  • Numerous indoor and outdoor options to host the ceremony.

  • A stunning barn to accommodate the reception.

  • Found local suppliers and Sydney suppliers who were willing to travel to Oberon (4 hours from Sydney).

THE OUTCOME

  • Created a stunning and effortlessly chic environment for all wedding components.

  • Ceremony took place outdoors against a backdrop of natural country beauty and a white gazebo framed with an arch of trailing flowers and foliage. The bride’s brother played a soft and gentle acoustic set to welcome guests.

  • Cocktail hour was set amongst the beautiful gardens of the venue and included an abundance of flowing champagne and an elaborate grazing table. Guests were encouraged to have a go at one of the many lawn games. We even got graced by an epic double rainbow!

  • A rustic barn provided the backdrop to the reception and added to the country feel of the wedding. With it’s aged character, rustic floors and exposed beams, it was the perfect setting. Long tables were dressed in raw linen, antique vases and candlesticks, and breathtaking florals. The bride even sewed a napkin for each guest with their name on!

  • Throughout dinner guests were served a bespoke menu that was designed to incorporate local and fresh produce, accompanied by West Australian wines.

  • The cake was a two-tiered creation by Faye Cahill and reflected the boho vibe of the wedding.

  • Through the reception, guests were treated to an upbeat local band that had guests dancing all night long!

  • For those midnight munchies, the caterer brought out sticky wine which was accompanied by a build-your-own sandwich station with a giant ham acting as the centrepiece.
