Cure Brain Cancer Foundation approached This Space to create a flagship fundraising gala event that challenged the traditional fundraising model. They had struggled with their attendee numbers for past events and had also recently undertaken a significant re-structure which led to a need to create a new database of supporters, attract new sponsors to the foundation and develop a new company purpose to fuel their vision.
Cure Brain Cancer Foundation wanted to show the industry, current affected patients and their families and friends including the medical community that Cure Brain Cancer Foundation are providing much needed funds to find a global cure for brain cancer and increase survival rates.
A truly unique black tie event where Sydney’s CBCF community, sponsors and medical community came together for an immersive event experience and night of spectacle. Guest arrival including a VIP lounge for sponsors saw guests walk down a red carpet with bespoke media wall for major media outlets to capture guests stunning outfits.
Once inside the venue an expansive 18m curved screen with blended digital content produced by This Space featured prominently on the space.
A giant sculptural ceiling installation of fringing created colour and movement flanked by giant oversized white mesh lights rigged on kinesis motors which slowly moved throughout the night accompanied the fashion show.
With live crosses to the kitchen where Christine Mansfield kept the guests updated with the back of house preparations of the menu that was created specially to focus guests on brain health, all the senses were engaged.
Twelve months in the making, a challenging environment internally for the foundation with board and staff changes and new database to be built from scratch alongside new sponsors we could not have been prouder of what we achieved together.
